The Dirt-One and the uselessly over-complicated speedometer pod

Unfortunately I've lost all the pictures of the work in progress...
Anyway, long story short, with the new forks I had to remove the original speedo mechanism, but I wanted to be able to keep an eye on the speed.
So, I've found a small digital bicycle speedo that goes up to 300km/h, perfect, but I really didn't like the look of it.

So, I started from this:

To end up with something like this:

I've made the square hole slightly bigger than the screen on purpose to let some light pass trough from some LEDs underneath the pod

The Orange Project rearsets

In order to make some room for the new exhaust, I decided to discard the old footpeg supports and build two proper ones.
I wanted to make it in two pieces to easly adjust the footpeg position if needed.

Starting as usual from a cardboard model,

then cutting, shaping and piercing some aluminium...

And after:

I have to change all the bolts to the frame because they now have the wrong length, but they are in non-metric size so it will require another couple of hours. I'll also make the recesses in the plate for the bolts heads for a flush finish.

Almost ready to take everything apart on this one too. Hopefully.  If I don't come up with some last minute overcomplicated stupid idea ...
