I've mounted a roda legal tyre on the Sumo, but this caused a big problem

The front fender looked too high, almost good for an off-road bike...

so, after some cutting-bending-welding etc.

It now looks just fine

We arrived yesterday safe and sound!

It was a very long trip, a lot of fog and traffic, but finally the bike was in place.

We've finally met Orazio "Rocket" and talked about bikes (what else?)

Met Mr "McDeeb" and his beautiful bikes, I've learned so much in such a very short time! Thank you Fabrizio!!

I've also finally met "Il Capo" and his Honda Cafè

and "Vezza" with his "Flying-Triumph"

And that was only the first day...

As always beautiful girls and crazy stuff

I've bought a pair of magaphone exhaust from the interweb,

they seemed good in the photos but they were pretty bad.

The cone end wasn't even round and it didn't fit properly on the exhaust body

but

"when it is only good for trash, there is always a plan B"

High temp powder coating for the downpipe...

Glossy white for the shock spring...

With the full damper refurbishment now the GCB monoshock looks and works way better.

Because of the flash in the photos the white on the exhaust pipe looks too much brighter...

In reality it is more like the first photo, more "smooth" and cream-white

Anyway this is basically a test to see how the downpipe will look with the very expensive and very 70's ceramic coating

It's been a long, long time of forced stop (long story...), but finally something seems to move in the right direction.

Still a lot to do but I really hope to make it for this year's Hills Race.

It would be an unpainted "beta" version of the Proto-moto for more than 150 + 150 KM OF ROAD TEST.... I'm already scared!
We'll see..

In the photos the bike is without the damper spring to simulate full swingarm travel. These are in a "full compressed" position.

Classified Moto’s John Ryland latest project.

Started from a 1982 Yamaha Virago 920, the fork is from a 2009 Yamaha YZF R6-R and the rear swingarm is from a 2008 YZF R6-S with a Triumph Daytona adjustable shock.

And yes, it's a Benelli tank.
